RDRA to host a Batchworth Bridge Crossing Forum in partnership with BCC

Following the most recent accident on this crossing and thanks to persistent pressure by Rickmansworth residents about pedestrian safety, the RDRA are hosting this forum, in partnership with BCC, to discuss with Three Rivers District Council.

Parking can be found in Church Street, Moor Lane and the Tesco car park, all of which are a few minutes’ walk from the Lock.

If you feel strongly and are able to attend, please do come along!

Have your say to WIN Watersmeet gift vouchers

Residents have an opportunity to shape the future of council services across Three Rivers district as the latest major survey of local opinion is launched.

The annual residents’ survey gives people the opportunity to have their say on the services they receive from their district council. Views are being sought from all residents aged 16 and over and the survey will close on 31 March 2025.

Anyone who takes part in the survey online and indicated that they wish to be entered into the prize draw will also have a chance to win one of three £60 vouchers for Watersmeet in Rickmansworth.

The district council provides a variety of services ranging from benefits, community safety, planning and housing needs to leisure services, parks and green spaces, public health and protection and waste and recycling collections.

Invitation to Shape Three Rivers District Council’s Response to Climate Change

About the opportunity
Three Rivers District Council are working with Involve – the UK’s leading public participation charity – to recruit ‘conversation starters’ who are interested in exploring what Three Rivers District could look like in the future and how we can respond to climate change in a positive way, that makes the district an even better place to live.

This is a critical piece of work that will feed directly into the council’s plans and strategies to respond to climate change.

Anyone living in Three Rivers aged 18-55 can register their interest to take part, and we are particularly hoping that people from minority or under-represented groups within the district will participate.

Participants will come together in-person over four days in February and March 2025 to take part in training, have conversations in their communities, and share back what they’ve heard. Every participant will be paid for their time at the rate of £15/hour, up to a total of £390, all travel will be paid too, and food and refreshments are provided. We have twenty spaces available.

No previous experience or knowledge of climate change is necessary, just a curious mind and a willingness to learn and get involved. We will make every provision to make the experience as accessible as possible.

Help improve health care services for people aged 65 or over, survey & event – 29th November

Herts and West Essex NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) would like to hear from anyone aged 65 or over and their family/carers regarding care and treatment received from the NHS over the last 12 months.

Invitation from West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

At West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, we are always working on improving the services we provide for our local community. One of the ways we are doing this is using the Equality Delivery System (EDS), which is an NHS improvement tool.

In order to do this, we would like to invite you to take part in a Stakeholder Panel Event, to review and discuss how we as an organisation perform in the following three provided services:

  • Adult palliative care at end of life
  • Nutritional needs for multifaith communities
  • Easy read appointment letters for patients who have a learning disability or other need requiring easy read letters

Following a discussion, we will ask you to give a score and contribute to our ‘EDS Organisation Rating’. We would also very much value your feedback on these services so that we can work on an action plan to make improvements.

The Stakeholder Panel Event details are as follows:

Watch & discuss important British Soil Health film with its producer on 12th November

Free event at Watersmeet on Tuesday 12th November, 6pm-9:15pm

You are invited to a special screening of the documentary Six Inches of Soil, followed by a panel discussion with the film’s producer, Claire Mackenzie.

Six Inches of Soil is an inspiring British independent documentary that explores the importance of soil health and regenerative farming. The film tells the story of young British farmers who are challenging the industrial food system, aiming to restore soil health, improve our wellbeing, and contribute to local communities through sustainable farming practices.

The documentary highlights the urgency of the current agricultural crisis but also offers hope, showcasing practical solutions that can help transform our food system for the better.

Remembrance parade on 10th November

The RDRA took part in the Remembrance parade from Our Lady’s church to St Mary’s church at 2pm on Sunday and laid a wreath on behalf of all members of the RDRA. There was a short service outside St Mary’s then refreshments at the Royal British Legion.

Residents are invited to have their say on the district council’s five-year cultural strategy that will help define and celebrate the rich culture of Three Rivers.

An online survey has been launched by Three Rivers District Council for local residents to express what the word culture means to the community, what particular places they visit, activities they take part in or traditions they cherish. The local authority is also keen to hear what obstacles people might face in accessing cultural provision locally or across the wider district.
